Our Christmas turkeys have gained an excellent reputation for being a quality bird, which makes a great centrepiece to a fantastic Christmas. The reports we receive our most complimentary and reflect out traditional farming practices of Pure and simple grass and time.
The Bronze turkey is a traditional breed that grows slowly and takes many months to mature, ideally suited to free ranging flocks.
The Turkeys are reared in an open barn with daily access to pasture, where they can range freely. They are fed on a diet of wheat, vegetable protein and grass. This combination enables the birds to grow at a slow and natural rate producing a distinct flavoursome meat.
The turkeys are dry plucked by hand so as not to damage the bird. They are hung long legged in a chiller for 5 days to allow the birds natural flavours to mature and come through when cooked.
The turkeys are supplied fresh, oven ready and wrapped in greaseproof paper with their giblets in a separate bag. They are available for collection from Springfield farm near Canterbury.
